Building Community One Bite at a Time

In 2025, members of Nevada UMC undertook a simple yet powerful mission: feed our neighbors and build connections in the way small towns do best — around a shared meal.

With a goal of reaching 400 people from all walks of life, Earp Park was soon filled with the smell of burgers, veggies, and chicken  on the grill, kids running through the grass, neighbors catching up, and plenty of laughter. What began as a meal quickly became something more — a reminder that community grows when we gather, listen, and share space together.

At Nevada UMC, we believe the table is more than just a connection; it's a place where grace grows. Whether in a sanctuary or under a park shelter, breaking bread builds bridges.

We’re continuing this mission in the coming year with additional Community Grill dates and opportunities to gather at the Community Center. We’d love for you to join us — come hungry, bring a friend, and pull up a chair.

Because sometimes the simplest way to build community… is one bite at a time.
